And more importantly, why is a white RX so nice ?

They're comfortable.

My future "nice" car will be an IS250, although if there are any GS300's left by that time, I will be for sure getting that.

Comfortable, reliable, not much to not like. Who really buys a luxury car to take it to the track?

I'd go with the GS because even nicer

I do like comfortable

But it should be bland, to me it isn't. I actually looks very nice

It's "so nice" because its horribly overpriced and shockingly boring. Two qualities that are found in things that make people forget to try living.
Lexus is automotive Soma right now. Mercedes Benz is a close second.

What I'm saying is, just because it's not super fast and agile, doesn't make it completely boring. I wouldn't call a comfortable, nice place to eat miles, a boring place to be.

I'm actually a big RX fan. I used to sell them...it's just a really nice vehicle. Quiet, comfortable, handles fine, gets out of its way well, and gets decent mileage. If somebody wants a nice vehicle, you really can't go too far wrong recommending an RX.

It's not weird to like a luxury car company that's not European, I'm a fan of Cadillacs and Lincolns so I know what it means to like cars most people view as old people drivers. Plus I actually have a soft spot for the first generation Lexus LS400, so you aren't alone.

I actually like them. My girlfriend has had two, and I've gotten a lot of seat time. They're really nice to drive and the newer generations look pretty damn good. I'm driving her's up to Vermont this summer from Connecticut. I think I might do an Oppo review...
But I still haven't done the Oppo review of the BMW 328xi 'vert that I drove from Connecticut to Tennessee so we'll see if I ever get around to doing either.

The LS400 first gen is on my "Must own" list

But it looks so clean and drives so nice

But there are so many more characterful cars out there (that's a big factor for me, I hate the beige) still the RX looks so incredibly nice to me. I wish they were cheaper here.

People buy Lexi?

I'm not sure I'd agree with the drive so nice comment, and the body of all RX SUVs are hideous. Granted, they're better looking than 90% of Lexus's lineup right now, but still...
Bear in mind, I doubt I'd ever buy an SUV or crossover, for any reason.
The only saving grace from Lexus is that their V8 in the RC-F is great, but both the RC-F and IS-F would be painful for me to own.

Please do the Oppo review, I'd love to know more about them.

That makes sense I think, taste is very subjective

Do it! They're like 3k

I've always like the look of this gen RX over the current one. The current one looks showhorned :V
They're usually very comfortable and the image of reliability helps, I guess.

I don't really find the RX to lack character...the ES lacks character. The RX is nice looking inside and out and it drives well. It's not dynamic or super fun to drive, but I don't consider the RX a beige like lots of Toyota's other vehicles.
![]() 11/23/2014 at 17:27 |

I don't think it lack character, it is just that there are so many unreliable, bi-turbo, hydraulic suspension SUVs on the market (I usually go for that sort of thing). Still, I love the RX.

Don't worry, your not alone. I would DD and RX.

because lexus makes a good car.
yea, I know everyone is going to jump on the NO MANUAL, IT SOULESS, NOT BROWN RWD MANUAL DIESEL WAGON. but lets be fucking honest here. 99% of your driving is just getting to places. having something thats smooth, quiet, comfortable, reliable and isolates your from the world isnt such a bad thing.
yea, I could bitch that the engine in my mom 09 IS250 AWD is a bit slow, and a bit heavy on fuel, but the reality is, I dont need 300hp. I just want 300 hp. That car moves around with traffic just fine with 200hp. and it is an EXCELLENT cruiser. I set the cruise to 110, turn up the radio, and occasionally pull over for some fuel. No fuss, no noise, no scarey clanks, no ear-destroying road noise. Just me, my maroon 5 CD, and my thoughts as I go down the road.

Lexus makes incredible cars, apart from the exterminator grille the previous model years all look clean and the proportions are all correct. No one needs 300hp
![]() 11/23/2014 at 19:49 |

yea. I just bitch about it because I'm so used to my dads A3 TDI returning 55+ MPG, then I get into the lexus and even for the CRAZIEST hypermiling i only get 36. I expect more power for less fuel economy car :P
![]() 11/23/2014 at 19:57 |

I get 12 mpg so I'm not one to complain.
![]() 11/23/2014 at 19:58 |

hehe. I cant deal with fuel econ under 20. I just cant. not when my bike get 75, my dads car gets 55, and then you have my moms car with 26....

RX, no. NX200t F-Sport, sure. Would even consider the hybrid for wifey.

No, that NX thing looks awful.
